This print tells the story of when Queen Liliuokalani was imprisoned in her own home and wasn’t allowed to know what was happening outside to her people. Her companion, who chose to stay with her, had a son who delivered flowers to them wrapped in newspaper.

Queen Liliuokalanis favorite flower was said to be the Puakalaunu also known as the crown flower.
