This is a watercolor print of the 'Ōhia Lehua. This collection is intended to empower education of Native plants in Hawai'i. The 'Ōhia is endemic to Hawai'i meaning only natively founnd in Hawai'i. The tree is incredibly special even sacred to the Hawaiian community. It is an incredibly resilient tree. One of the first life to breakthrough fresh lava flow. That being said teh trees are also fighting a disease known as ROD (Rapid 'Ōhia Death) that is a very serious fungus killing our trees. We must help protect these beautiful trees by not transporting wood, not injuring or cutting down healthy trees, and making sure to clean shoes and gear before entering forests and places where 'Ōhia reside.
