This piece is of our Native Hawaiian Endemic Poppy, Pua Kala. Also known as the prickly poppy or beach poppy. It is a delicate looking poppy but with thorns for ots protection and grows along our very dry forests and hilltops. This poppy is reilient and one of the first that can still grow back after a fire. 
Its a stunning flower for sure!
